My first TLB will probably be this one. I can't find a better value for this design.

You can now get metal toe plates on the TLB website
Makes sense if you are certain about your size as I don't think you can return the shoes.

Great choice - the only thing I'd point out on those is that the punching on the toe cap is not 100% traditional - they are a row of same size smaller holes rather than the more usual one bigger/two smaller hole design. I somehow overlooked it when purchasing mine and was a bit surprised when opening the box. Still looks great but I might have preferred the more traditional option, such as the one carried by The Hand.

Wow, I never noticed that, but I just checked my old AE captoes and you are correct.

I've posted some photos back in the thread if you want to check how it looks in real life. In any case, Toni could most likely accommodate a request to change that to the more traditional pattern.

Yes, Boxcalf is sturdy and classic but Vegano is more interesting and a little softer in my opinion.

Case and point

You can see the difference. Vegano has more depth, and box is more uniform
Thanks for the pics! Is the middle one dark brown Vegano or just brown Vegano?

None of those shoes are from TLB, that is why I put them as spoilers. I can tell you the details if you want to know about those none TLB shoes.

That is one stunning shoe, with such a nice toe burnish. @Emil S, as I consider buying these, is this color versatile enough to wear with jeans, etc.?
Well, im obviosly biased since this was my first choice of Artista and one of the first Artista pairs ever made, but i think its very versatile.

My first pair from TLB is their balmoral boot from the regular lineup. The last is surprisingly voluminous around the calf and there's room for thicker socks. The main sticking point so far is that the tip of the shaft rubs against the leg painfully. Most likely I can fix this with heel grips, glued unorthodoxically around the shaft top. The last and finishing look very good, but the leather creases more than I'd prefer really. The overall quality is Carmina's level.
