Just had a look in my wardrobe and I have all shade of navy from midnight to mid-navy...

I'm looking for some interesting mid to darkish blue with a twist fabrics...

A navy with a purple tone to it will be great for example...

Please pictures are appreciated...

I remember when I was in England, there was a Ted Baker 3-piece that was dark blue with a purple tone that was noticable. I loved its colour but hated the design of the jacket. I think you may be able to find it in the UK easily - I was in UK last year and saw it in a House of Frazier in that large shopping mall just outside London (along M2 if memory serves me right).

BTW - this is not a hint to buy that abomination, but it gives you something to work on. I wish I could post you a URL!

I have a solid navy suit in a herringbone weave. Rather than going for a pattern, try a texture instead. It makes for a great 3-piece suit.

Or a blue birdseye. I just ordered one - but in a 2pc. May be a bit busy in a 3pc

For a 3pc I would probably go texture (second the herringbone idea)

I'm worried about the busy element of the pattern in a 3piece suit format...

I'm thinking of a worsted flannel to give a bit of depth without going the full flannel route ...

Classic worsted can look flat and a bit boring.

I will look to the blues on offer ...

Ink will be an option ...

That's a great colour. Who made the coat?

There are great blues in linen fabrics...

The texture is offering more depth to the colour.

I am also in the process of looking for a decent blue fabric for a new suit. I want a worsted, but maybe something a shade lighter than navy, but not 60's mod either. I can't seem to settle on anything.

I think that navy with a light pink windowpane would be pretty badass in a three-piece.
