Are you sure the dial is navy? Is that a limited edition? I thought the RG cased 3712 had either black or silver dial. I know there is a limited edition in steel with blue dial but I haven't seen a RG case/blue dial combo

Yes, it's NAVY NO Question on it. Page 73 Menswear Spring. I'm not color blind

I'm reading about it right now. One of the reasons I like it is the Navy dial. Their site does not show such an option though.

Description is:
IWC 18-Karat Rose Gold and Crocodile Portuguese Chrono Automatic, $13k.

The RG 3712 does come with a black or silver dial, but the posted watch is a 3714, so the color combinations are different. That being said, I wasn't aware of a RG 3714 with a navy blue dial and that dial looks awfully black to me.

Anyway, magazines--even watch magazines--are frequently wrong about watches.

I assume you could swap the black dial for a navy?
The Portuguese Automatic in 18 ct. rose gold with brown crocodile leather strap
I assume would be a better conservative business dress watch

Well, it's obviously my preference.

IWC will only swap dials insofar as the resulting watch matches something it regularly produces. So if there's no such thing as a navy dial, RG 3714, they won't convert yours into one.

Good eye. I'm so obsessed by the 3712 that my mind probably imagined the split pusher outside of the camera frame

Still, I have never heard of a RG/navy 3714 either

Have you read WatchTime? It's suppose to be the premier watch magazine in the U.S. It's horrible. Aside from being no more than an expensive brochure for paying brands, it's often mistaken--not just about production details, but basic terminology.

I have a subscription - mostly for the pictures. Some of the mistakes are due to translation though. WatchTime is the US offshoot of a German magazine and several articles in each issue are simply translated from the German version

Which model do you have. I'm usually not a fan of gold but this seems to work well:

Ah ha. Still, too many manufacturer-supplied stock photos in my opinion. If they can't their hands on a real example, they shouldn't have much to say beyond what I can find out from the manufacturer's website.
