My current one is way too bulky and would like to slim it down a bit. Can anyone recommend a good quality SLIM leather wallet $100 or less? Something with only the bare necessities. I'm looking for a brown leather single billfold no larger than 3" by 4.5" like the Tumi shown here: http://www.bergmanluggage.com/meacslsibi.html But I really hate this flat looking brown. Any suggestions?

I made the switch to a very small wallet, similar in size (not in style

) to this one:

and although I have to either keep my bills separate or fold them, I absolutely love it.

Why do people pay $100 for a basic black wallet that looks exactly like a $10 wallet you can get on the streetcorner? No one's EVER going to notice. Seems like a waste of money.

Anyone got links to some colorful wallets that stand out a little more?
(pastels, designer, Marc Jacobs?, etc)

Because they last. I have had a coach wallet for at least 9 years. It has some wear marks but still looks 10x better then cheap wallets after 6 months of use. I cant speak for every expensive wallet but the Coach I have was worth every penny.

My brother recently purchased a very slim and simple brown Coach wallet for $30 on sale. Seems to do the trick and the leather is quite soft.

A small wallet is the best way to avoid it becoming a portable equivalent of a filing cabinet!

Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but if you want a thin wallet I don't think you can beat the All-ett: http://www.all-ett.com/

The manufacturer claims that they'll last two to three years with normal use. Mine is about that old and is still in decent shape.
