Tight shoulders on jacket

I've researched through the forums bu havent received a definitive answer so here goes.

I saw a great suit but the shoulders are a little tight. They indent in a little. From what I read, everyone says pass on it or buy a larger size but I cant b/c it's the last one.

So, if I took out the shoulder pads, would this fix the problem? This is an italian suit so I've noticed many italian suits rarely or have little shoulder pads so I think this would be a good idea.

Keep in mind I've an athletic build, 42R with 32 pants. My chest is above avg but my shoulders are wide and muscular than a typical 42.

What are your suggestions?

If it feels too tight in the shoulders, you need to try a bigger size. You can adjust the chest of the jacket and the waist of the pants easily, but shoulders are the one part of a suit you can't change easily.

A good tailor can do it. But only to a point.

dont do it. the shoulders will never be right.
also the large trouser alterations will be costly.

Like you said, the shoulders will be tight. I wouldn't buy an expensive suit that doesn't fit and hope a tailor can fix it. It's a risky investment you don't need to make. I would talk to an employee if will be restocked anytime soon. Move on if it isn't, there are plenty of great suits out there.

My advice is that for RTW a jacket should fit the shoulders perfectly, as is. It is the sleeves and waist that you adjust.

If the chest fits you don't need a different size you need a different brand/cut. It's just not made for you.
