Whats a good brand of ties?

Mine tend to be from the Knot Shop or some no name brand, the one I am wearing is a Henry Jacobson.

Excellent question. Would like to keep it somewhere around $100. Let's not get much higher than that. There is a store in my home town that sells Italian ties for around $70, called Andrew's Ties, have you heard of the store?

The correct answer is: Sam Hober

    (Seriously. That's the right answer.)

You can also get Drake's ties on sale for < $100 as well as finding them in the B&S forum here. That's another very good option.

Manufacture and delivery will take some time, but for $70-$100 I'd suggest Sam Hober. I started buying from them in 2006 and have not bought a single tie from any other source since (other than a bowtie for a tuxedo that I needed on short notice). You can get a completely customized necktie (length, width, type of knot, monogram, etc.; some additions cost a bit extra but for a standard tie, you're looking at around $85 plus shipping) for the price range and the workmanship is excellent. There's an entire thread dedicated to this company. I suggest perusing the thread linked to below and ordering swatch sets prior to placing an order, though some of the pictures give you a good idea.

Quote:Never heard of the store. Ferragamo ties cost about $100 at outlet stores. You can even catch Tom ford ties less than $100. That if you can go to New york

Where have you seen Tom Ford < $100 out of curiosity?

Even on Ebay they're pretty expensive.

Sam Hober is probably very good, but a bit on the safe and boring side.

Missoni, Robert Graham or Duchamp... make "funkier" designs that are in your price range.

The best would be Hermès, Charvet, Brioni, Kiton, Tom Ford or Marinella, but it is out of your prince range.

and once you tie one of those knots...Panta and Drakes make better knots, but not by much.

Andrew's Ties have a shop in Milan...quality seems decent enough - just not overboard in details.
