I thought port was a shade of red. That looks black to me. If it really is a dark red, how about a plain crimson or burgundy tie? Some dark red-almost brown color?

First, that shirt is not appropriate for use with a tie. But if you must, solid navy, maybe a knit tie due to the informal nature of the shirt.

As for navy pinstripe pants, try a light blue shirt and a grey tie.

+1 That shirt is not meant to be used with a tie (unless it's a bolo tie). DOn't do it. The collar is way too small.

Man, I didn't even notice the collar is a button down and it has a pocket, I was so busy trying to see what color it is. I would never wear that shirt with a tie, much less at all.

You need a navy striped jacket with navy striped pants. They're suit pants. Do not try to wear them by themselves. After that, go with white or blue.
