Tibbett of England Duffle Coat

I recently picked up a duffle coat at a vintage store (primarily western apparel) in Austin. As you can see, it has a Hudson Bay style blanket print. The inside tag says "Mongomery by Tibbett, Made in England." Its really nicely made. Wool, with black piping. I'm just curious if anyone has any info on Tibbett coats.

I do know that Tibbett manufactured Duffle coats for the Royal Navy during the second world war. They continued to produce their coats until only a few years ago when they went into administration and were bought by another company who sell their coats as Montgomery's after England's famous Field Marshall. Interestingly the most famous company producing Duffle coats is Gloverall who originally produced cotton, leather and wool products, particularly Gloves and Overalls. Apparently, after the end of the war the Government had thousands of Duffle coats which they sold to the company who 'civilianised' them for the general public and sold them under their new name, Gloverall. So, Tibbett have a long and rich history connected with the Second World War. A true classic.
