Throws

We're looking for a throw to put on our sofa (cream leather Florence Knoll). I'm thinking that something in a traditional pattern (like a plaid of some sort) would be a nice contrast against our otherwise very modern furniture.

This cashmere throw from Drake's might be an option:

With the pound so low, the price is right. But I imagine a more subtle pattern, like a greyish glen plaid could also work well.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Isn't that lambswool? That's what it says on their site. STP has Johnstons' lambswool throws for a good price too.

For some reason, I have been obsessed with tricolor cowhide recently (and am getting an accent cushion made from it), but it would certainly not feel as nice as a cashmere throw. I think it would look good with your Knoll, though.

Going traditional is a good idea, but I'm not sure about plaid. Perhaps something more subtle?

We are building a small collection of these.
The latest, something very soft from Restoration Hardware -nothing so expensive we couldn't drop some cheetos on it though.

The only one I've had is a few years old and a great one from Marc Jacobs when he used to have a home store on Melrose.
Light blue and works on a beige couch.
I prefer solids to patterns.

I've had a charcoal gray cashmere Banana Republic throw for ten years. I love it.

Definitely check out Pendleton. They have nice plaids and some new herringbone patterns that look great.
