I bought a Polo tux on ebay and didn't realize it had a sharpie line through the label on the inside.

I've read online that Magic Erasers are good for removing sharpie from clothes, but wasn't sure how it would work on the label. Any other ideas?

    Thanks

Why do you care? Are you planning on selling it as "NWOT" after you get rid of the line?

The accepted way to remove the Sharpie line from gray market clothes is to carefully cut through the marked tag on either side of the line.

This both removes the marker line completely and leaves behind the highly sought after "cut tag" look.

Because I'm an insecure twit - and I don't want my girlfriend/dry cleaner seeing it. And no, not planning to sell. I bought the jacket on ebay and had enough trouble getting Polo to sell me a new pair of pants to match.

I read an earlier thread where a guy had his tailor remove the tag, then get the line out and sew it back. I'm not going that far but if I can do it for a couple bucks, why not?

You could try using a magnet.

Ignore these douchbags with their nitwit suggestions.

Just cut the actual tag out, and sew a higher-end label on.

May I suggest either Brioni or Kiton................BIG TIMER right there :slayer:

    Naval jelly.

P.S. - If you were just insecure you'd cut out the label. Do you need your girlfriend / dry cleaner to know what brand of clothes you wear? That was a seriously dumb attempt to lend some legitimacy to an already sketchy request.

If your girlfriends cares what label you are wearing and how much you paid for it, she's not the one for you...

A black mark has long been a sign of dignity. How else do you explain the expression "This will be a black mark on your record"? I've heard that phrase throughout my life, and usually from respected authority figures, so I know it's a high honor.
