I need three or so suits for work. A quality navy suit, a charcoal suit and a other suit (maybe brown?).

I have a budget of about $3000-$4000.

What would you do?

Edit - mind you a flight to asia will have to be factored into cost.

To get them bespoke in Asia, you would need to stick around for a couple of fittings. That would definitely be the top choice -- not only would you get full bespoke, you'd get to spend a couple of weeks (or months) in HK or Shanghai. Assuming you can't do this, I think the internet is your next best choice. You can get a great RTW suit for $1,000 online.

Asian bespoke. I'd rather have a properly fitting bespoke suit than an ill-fitting RTW Kiton any day.

3-4k and some patience will get you whatever you want online. However, this option only beats Asian bespoke if a. RTW (in general or a particular label) fits you well and b. you have a competent tailor and a good relationship with him.

In my experience, all of the tailors I have been to in Southeast Asia have been from India or the Middle East.....not sure about HK though.....

Navy and charcoal are solid choices. Brown - although individual preferences, coloring, etc. are considerations - probably not so much. Personally, for a third suit I'd go with either a mid-gray solid or may a POW plaid to add a touch of variety.

if bespoke by necessity, im pretty sure you got all the advice you need, but if bespoke by choice, i urge you to get 3 rtw suits, decent suits if after a good researching can purchase all for around 1000 dollars and in my opinion, to reiterate someone elses response above, if you have to spend the other 2000-3000 dollars , spend it on luxurious shoes. or a watch

Shoes are the one part of the wardrobe where you can happily mix bespoke and ready to wear.

But if affordability is not an issue, advocating that someone buy fused RTW suits for $300 each instead of bespoke could only be done by one who has never experienced the difference between the two.
