Ah... I was going to recommend Brooks Brothers, but as you're in the UK, that wouldn't help much.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't most waist coats simply ad-ons? The fact that it too is black may give the impression that it came as a set, but I thought it was typical to purchase the waistcoat separately.

That said, if you're intent on finding a true three-piece, and are unopposed to a two button jacket (like the one pictured in your OP), then you're in luck:

If you have satin lapels this works:

If you can get it as a three-piece, then that is the ideal option.

The vest would be the same exact wool design as the jacket and pants.

If you buy it seperately, it will never match, and therefore you'd have to go with an off-colour (not black) or off-material (like a silk vest) instead. Neither will look as nice. Consider that the lapels already have the silk look. You wouldn't want silk beside silk.

I'm not sure about this. Is it possible to match the blacks exactly?

No, I guess my point was that when looking at pictures, one would have no idea if the waist coat was sourced separately or originally part of the tux because you're not close enough to see how good the color match is and what looks like a three-piece may actually be a two-piece with another vest added. Difficult to even tell whether the trousers/jacket and waistcoat are the same material.

By the way, speaking of evening wear, are you going to be restocking your tux shirts in all sizes?

Yes, the 15.75 tuxedo shirt will be back in about two weeks. All other sizes are in stock.

Go vintage at Old Hat - they will have something for you there. Just near Putney bridge at the end of the New King's Road, google it.

Ede and Ravenscroft has a dinner suit separates selection that includes everything you want. I was eyeing that myself actually, until an unforeseen HK trip allowed me to go tailor-made.

In the UK department stores, by and large, seem to be pretty bad at stocking eveningwear so you're likely going to have to go somewhere specialist. I don't know Glasgow so I can't help with anywhere local.

Ede & Ravenscroft might be a good bet and I'm pretty sure they've got a shop in Edinburgh so you don't have to come all the way down to London to try it on.

My brother also recently had a dj made for him by Dress2Kill which is about £500 odd normally but I think he got it on some sort of offer. They're only in London though so I'm not sure if it's any help. No idea how it turned out either as he's with the RAF in Germany so I've not had a chance to look at it.

In person, it is surprisingly obvious when black doesn't match. Any difference in the shade, texture or shinyness is really apparent, especially when the two different cloths are right next to each other. Do not ever try to buy a black vest seperately from a DJ. It won't work. Ditto, of course, for the pants.
