I'll confess, my interest in "One Shoe Wardrobe" waned once initial incredulity was supplanted by the standard issue parallel idiosyncrasies and divergences. "Shoeboxes", on the other hand, is ripe with finely detailed character studies, psychological profiles, numerous subplots and a constantly evolving cast of characters. On its surface it is a well constructed whodoneit, with all the twists and turns, intrigue and cloak (covert/chesterfield) and dagger business one would expect. But beneath there lies something far more sinister, a tangled web of intricately woven deceipt, obfuscation and ultimately, I believe, despair for those unwitting or unfortunate enough to have been lured by its seemingly benign entreaties.
I think you know where my vote lies.
