Thoughts on this Tux?

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this Isaia tux (obviously not planning on wearing it with the blue shirt and tie). It's fully canvassed. The wool is Super 150s. Pants are double pleated.

I was looking for a single breasted, peak lapel, one button tux and this seems to fit the bill. Does anyone see any potential issues?

As long as it's cut the same way that Isaia suits are cut it should fit.

Looks very nice.

I wonder if it has a linked pair of buttons in the front. I suspect it may do and like that style.

As long as it fits, it's exactly how a perfect dinner-jacket should be configured: SB, peak lapels, no vents, etc. I like the lapel roll. I say buy it.

I also vote for "buy". I prefer a wider lapel on DJ's, but the ones on that Isaia are definitely beautiful.

Thanks everyone. I just bought it NWT (unfinished hems and sleeves, etc.) for $399. I think that's a pretty damn good price for an Isaia tux. Fully canvassed, a good amount of handwork - everything you'd expect from an Isaia. I'm going to wear it for the first time at my wedding next year. After that, I'll wear it whenever formal wear is required. I actually get invited to a good amount of "black tie" events.

For my wedding, I'm planning on wearing this with a white fc (probably pique) formal shirt with spread collar and a black bow tie.

What kind of shoes does everyone recommend with formal wear? Is patent leather the only way to go, or are there other options (other than pumps, which are out of the question).

You could just shine some calfskin to within an inch of its life.

Brooks Brothers patent leather oxfords. At $248 they look good and get the job done. I would replace the fabric laces provided with silk laces.
