Not a bad price for an automatic chrono. Decent looking watch. Do you have any use for a chrono though? I have a nice breitling chrono which I love, but I never use the sub dials and I actually find it is a little easier to read my non-chrono seiko's.

You could use chrono to show second time zone when you travel.

I have no use for them. Just love the way they look : )

I have an Oris and love it. Make sure to check out overstock, they always have a large inventory of Oris.

Its not bad. I think it would look great with a leather band.

I like the look of the face, case, and bracelet on the Oris you are looking at. Make sure you *feel it* before you commit. I've never owned an Oris. The ones I have handled left me thinking that they were a little bit off. Maybe I got the wrong impression, but I just didn't feel quality. Up to you, of course. If you buy it, don't buy it new --the second owner discount on an Oris is significant. If you buy it, buy it on the factory bracelet --you can buy an awesome strap for $50, but that damn bracelet will cost you $300 if you try to buy it separately.

Should you actually be saving for a Speedmaster or a Tutima Flieger? Will the Oris really satisfy your desire for a nice watch?

One more thing: do you know what a cleaning service on an automatic chronograph runs at a reputable shop?

If you are looking for an AD with really good prices and one of the best reps, I would recommend visiting the "Friends of Oris" Forum - you can request for the price list there and the watches are discounted (plus additional 20% if you're lucky) AND they are an authorized dealer.

This is funny, I clicked this hoping it was that watch. If you get it, post some pics please. I accidentally won a Swiss Army Chrono Classic on the Bay today, but I think that Oris might be my next acquisition.

Just be aware it's not sapphire. I've had a few Oris (the Diver's TT1 model) and the quality was good, not amazing. For the price, I was expecting better bracelet quality, but at a heavy discount I'd pick one up again.

Again, post pics

+1. Some of their models look *plasticy* believe it or not, like the steel just isn't top quality. As someone else mentioned, they save money on the glass (usually either perspex or quartz crystal rather than sapphire), and sometimes the finishing on Oris (esp. on the numerals, hands) isn 't 100% in my experience.

I looked at some Oris watches for my wife - ended up going for a Raymond Weil instead as the quality was much better and the price wasn't that much more at the time.
