I'm looking for both a casual leather shoe and a good sneaker. I'm going to get one now and the other at a later date. I really don't have a preference which I get first...pretty much whatever catches my eye first.

    Any thoughts on these AE's?

At first I liked them a lot. But the longer I look, the more plain/ordinary they become. [IMG] I still like them...maybe taking advantage of Zappos free shipping would be worth it. I'd like to keep the price to no more than what these are ($230) for the time being. They'd be used for dressing up jeans and a polo or button down shirt.

As for sneakers....well I'm just not sure yet. I've been looking but nothing really grabs me yet. They PF Flyer Hi leather shoes are kind of nice, and I don't have anything like those at the moment. I'd like to find something that looks good to me and isn't something you see everyday. Also, I'm not stuck on the PF Flyer style so other options are very welcome.

    Thanks,
    Angelo

I'm on the fence about those shoes. They're decent but not extraordinary. If you have an Allen-Edmonds outlet nearby, check there first before you pay full retail.

    Thanks.

Yeah, I'm not really sure either at this point. I'm going to keep looking and hold off for now. They aren't ugly, at least ot me, but as you suggest they lack something special...style-wise.

    Thanks again

The thing that puts me off about those shoes is the big black rubber bottom. While the upper is sleek and nice looking, the soles just don't complete the package. If I were you, I'd look for something with a more understated and less obtrusive sole.
