I'm looking at getting a AA Oxford, the reason Im turned towards it is because its at a cheap price. Does anyone own one? Also is there anything a bit better in that price range? I wear a XL in AA if that helps.

I have tried it on, and concluded that it is rather sub-par in construction and fit. There are better options in that price range.

Don't know much about the AA oxford, but has anyone else tried the American Eagle oxfords? I haven't been in AE in forever as that isn't in my age bracket/demographic anymore, but I happened to stop in there with my girl who was looking for some cheap summer bumming jeans and I saw they had oxfords without the annoying eagle or any other log on them on sale for $12 each. They are more on the light weight side and don't have button down collars although I'm sure a tailor could take care of that quickly if needed.

I picked up a few since the fit was rather slimming for those days where my high quality items are getting dry cleaned and for those days where I just don't care. So far I ran one in the wash and although the collars get a a little messy, a quick iron job took care of it. Not too bad for the price if budget is your main concern.

It's shittttty. I have one, the fit is super weird, the lowest button is awkwardly high, and the construction is junk. I can't get over american apparel moving in to the dress wear market. Has anyone see their plain wool coats for like 265 CAD? they look like junk.

If you want something in this price range try some of the other suggestions here or hit the gap if their stuff fits you. that or j.crew.

I'll second the motion to stay away. Fit is awful.

Complete ****.

Sometimes I wonder how much longer this company can pull the wool over everyone's eyes. All the half-naked teenagers and crazy ass pantyhose designs in the world can't distract from the fact that they have zero respect for fabrication or construction. Christ, it makes Old Navy look fantastic in comparison. For a while, they were the only source for affordable slim-fit tees. That market need has been filled a million times over, and people need to move on. Damn!

Everyday I get another line sheet from a "streetwear" firm that's printing graphic tees of Biggie, handguns, brass knuckles, or Kid n' Play lyrics on - what they call - "sweatshop free shirts made in Downtown LA." As if I couldn't guess what that is.

Rant over.

Ok, I'll defend the shirt. Just picked up a pink one for under $40, and it's about the only off-the-rack button down that fits me until I get to BoO of MTM level. So if you're skinny and can get one for a bit of a discount, it's not a bad option. At least it'll cost less than getting one from Gap or J Crew and then paying a tailor to slim it down.

But then again, I haven't washed it yet. And the comments in this thread are making me afraid to try...

Edit: I just saw that you wear an XL, which is definitely not the XS that I bought... since most OTR probably fits you decent, you can probably do better for the price
