Do orthotics or insoles help to prevent the effect where the foot causes the leather to protrude on the inner parts of the shoes?

If what I just described makes no sense, let me know and I will draw a picture.

Thanks.

Marginally, it does. I wear orthotics and they are a blessing in terms of the benefits.

Are you talking about comfort or appearance? My flat feet don't really provide that much discomfort; I am annoyed by what my feet do to shoes, though.

I worked as a shoe salesman for about 2 years and orthotics worked wonders for people.
