Those light faded blue marks in the crotch

Is that justthe indigo fading? I'm scared because i've seen a lot of pics on here of jean with holes in the crotch that have that light blue fade around the general area. Also.. does leaving salt marks on ur jeans cause anything to its wash? I have really dark rigid wash i bought from puma and i don't want the salt spots from the pebbles on the sidewalks(lots of snow here) to mess things up.

The more 'blue' fade does indeed seem to come from places of more physical wear, which seems like an ominous sign for your crotch getting blown out. I discovered this a couple of days ago when I was idly scratching a crease on my 6 month old 501s with my fingernail... where I'd been scratching went from a grey-indigo streak to a vivid blue line.

I notice this happening specially when I wear my jeans damp after a bathtub wash. I did it when I soaked a pair of raw denim and I wanted it to dry on my body so it would 'shrink to fit'.

Yeah... I really don't think the crotch will blow out.. it stretched out decently that its not really tight all the time. I think it will be okay. It's not a huge area nor is the fading at a high degree. What does this say about women and dry denim? I mean.. they sure as hell wear pants mad tight so are there a bunch of girls walking around with blown crotches? lol.

Girls blow their crotches pretty often to my knowledge. As I explained, it's friction that seems to cause the blue breaking out like that... on my jeans it happens where the knees rub together slightly and where the fabric rubs together in the crotch. Basically, if your crotch is wearing faster than everything else, it's a pretty logical process that the fabric will weaken and blow out faster than the rest of your jeans.

What's the best way to patch this up? My crotch is always the first to go... sometimes even after a few months. Should I take it to a tailor and have them sew a patch on the inside and stich around the outside with dark blue thread? Or just let them fall apart until my junk dangles in the wind? One pair of mine has worn to the thinness of a t-shirt near the crotch around the seam.

Nowadays when I get wear starting I reinforce the fabric with very close stitches along the grain of the denim... if the wear gets worse, you can always seamrip the stitches out and patch it up properly.
