What, no boots?

More seriously, what's your initial impression on the quality of Edward Green's cordovan shoes that you have, compared to those of other makers?

I intensely dislike cordovan shoes but I have to say that the Beaulieu looks pretty sweet

Gorgeous! I think you have a knack for picking beautiful shoes, Andrew.

I really like those longwings.

BTW: Is there any Russian reindeer in the famed aportnoy collection?

Thanks A! Ask me about Russian reindeer on Monday afternoon upon my returnfrom meeting with George Glasgow of Cleverley.

The EG shell is nice!

I love the Cigar shell Alden long wing - I recently received a pair, too.

Extremely nice haul, Andrew. I've decided that shade of brown is pretty much perfect for the Grant. That and black are my two favorite incarnations of it.

Really dig the Beaulieu, too. It's an underappreciated style.

I don't quite get the broguing on the Fairfax, but I'm a boring fuddy duddy.

Those Aldens will be great for casual wear. I like the sole treatment.

As if you needed to hear us say those are all beautiful.

Hey Shoe Fairy -- today I wore the Gravati double monks you sold to Tarmac a while back. Why on earth would you sell those? Were they ill-fitting? I actually get less work done when I wear them because of time lost in pure adoration.

Those Allen Edmonds put a bad taste in your mouth, eh?

Love the cigar longwings, and glad to see EG working with shell

EG shell seems to be very similar to Vass in quality, though I believe these guys use Horween, the same source as Alden. As for the workmanship, it's the standard EG which is to say outstanding.

Doc..I couldn't agree more on Grant. I prefer the chestnut to the darkoak and burnt pine versions I have and I'm still kicking myself for not getting the black when I had the opportunity. The Fairfax is weird but it's really growing on me.

Glad you're enjoying the Gravatis Lester, they are sweet. Unfortunately one half size too large for the Fairy.
