The Vasses are absolutely gorgeous! Good choices on the models, colors, and the medallion on the monk.

LARon (speaking of him, where the hell is he?) was mulling over whether he should add medallion to his EG monk, I think your picture answers his question.

The JL William II I saw at the Lobb store didn't have the cap stitches go all the way to the welt.

J, can you change Portnoy's title to Shoe Fairy?

Does the Lobb boot have a rubber sole? The more I look at them, the more I like them.

The Vass are spectacular.

But the JL antiquing is not to be sneezed at. Especially nice, well done.

It sure does, good eyes! It's a fairly thin sole but it makes them a bit more versatile.

Ok that confirms it. Vass Old Englsih II is my favorite Oxford of all time. I was going to get it in 6319 Cognac but now I think I'm going for Oxblood Boxcalf.

aportnoy...to be sure...is this pic an accurate representation of the color?

Chris,

The photo is quite accurate save that my flash has lightened it ever so slightly. It's my favorite of all the Vass shades as it is the most complex of the boxcalves. Proceed, you will not be disappointed.

I'm sure Ed knows how to say it in the language of every country he's visited.
