Are you kidding? That loud noise you might be able to hear is the sound of my mind blowing.

My favourites are the EG Rye in maple and the EG Berkeley in dark oak. Is the antiquing on the latter home-made? It's very handsome.

Out of curiosity but mostly jealousy,

How many total pairs of shoes have you got?
in EG/Lobb/etc?

SWEET, SWEET shoes, by the way

Impeccable choices as usual Andrew. My top 2 picks are the Holcot in Edwardian and the Lobb monkstrap.

I am curious about your EG last choices. Do you prefer the 888 over the 202 or 606? Is there a particular reason for buying some in the 888 and others in the 202/606 or is it simply a function of what was available in your size durung the sale?

Aportnoy: You need a 12 step program!

Step 1: Admit you have a problem

"Hi, my name is Aportnoy, and I'm addicted to shoes."

"Hello Aportnoy!"

Step 2: Mail shoes to JMatt....

(Awesome additions, as always.)

Dark Oak has not been my favorite color but the antiquing on the Olney and Berkeley is to die for and now I must have one.

I suppose this was both the sale receipt and the result of your recent trip to NY.

Great wearing. Now you will need to go out every day and evening for lunch and dinner and wear a different pair of shoes!!

Obviously I will need to match my London visit next year to the EG sale time.

aport, you amaze me, but i finally have to ask , since it is so mind blowing (not because the shoes are so gorgeous) , but how do you get these shoes every week?
are you getting these for free or are you purchasing these?
usually i dont ask these nosy questions, but just your sheer number of shoes each week just blows my mind.
incredible.

Actually, I think that Edward Green is sponsoring his daily commute as long as he agrees to wear their shoes.

How many pairs of EG and JL you are away in having all the shoes listed in the pictorial index?

Let's do some math. The last damage report was filed on 6/15/06 that's 45 days and 13 pairs ago. That's about 2 pairs a week!

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
