1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    I hijack the hijack.

Anyone ever listen to the Sufjan Stevens song about John Wayne Gacy on the album Illinoise? One of the creepiest things I've ever heard:

His father was a drinker and his mother cried in bed
Folding John Wayne's t-shirts when the swingset hit his head
    The neighbors they adored him
For his humor and his conversation
    Look underneath the house there
Find the few living things, rotting fast, in their sleep
    Oh the dead
    27 people
Even more, they were boys, with their cars, summer jobs
    Oh my God
    Are you one of them?
He dressed up like a clown for them
With his face paint white and red
    And on his best behavior
In a dark room on the bed he kissed them all
    He'd kill ten thousand people
With a slight of his hand, running far, running fast to the dead
He took off all their clothes for them
He put a cloth on their lips, quiet hands, quiet kiss on the mouth
    And in my best behavior
I am really just like him
    Look beneath the floor boards
For the secrets I have hid

I guess Albert Fish doesn't count, since he was not a clown.

I love that song. Is it, stuck in your head?

    It is, in mine.

I don't like clowns either BTW.

this is for your own good: a confluence of clowns and simians, or, do two wrongs make a right?

Quite something, wasn't he? Check out crimelibrary.com, pretty good write-up on him. Chilling.
