Tired of being used for my mental prowess, imo. Tired of spending time in front of Excel or thinking about complicated financial instruments. Time to give back...to myself.

I want to wine and dine and entertain people/clients. I wanna just be on the phone shooting the **** all day. I don't want to spend too much time on the computer. I want to be in a position where I can make over $200K by the time I am 30-32.

Clearly this sounds like a sales or account manager position of some sort. Which industry and which firms? Investment management? S&T? Private Banking? Pharma sales?

Thanks.

So you want to be a lobbyist? You may want to look into lobbying school. FWIW you may end up having to testify against your boss, but when the legislature is in recess there's really nothing to do so there you go.

Metro: This is the kind of thread that I expect TheApple or Retro to start. Clearly shows you have been hanging out in their threads too much.

I know a guy that had a really amazing job doing "events" for a MAJOR corporation. He basically went to any public relations event for the company. This included all the sports games that had sponsored athletes or if the league itself was sponsored. This included charity events that the company was a donor for, etc. He basically made sure that the right people got in front of the right cameras at the right time, wearing the right things, and saying the right things.

Of course, when the economy died a horrible death, you can guess what kinds of things were the first to get cut. . .

Agreed. More specifically, Commercial Real Estate Investment or Industrial Sales. I would say 90% of your time would be on the phone and wining and dining. 10% of your time would be reading documents and email. If you're good, you can make $500K a year and get the inside scoop on the industry allowing you to invest your own money into real estate and really making big bucks.

Residential RE involves very little wining and dining, and more pounding the pavement with condo buyers and attempting to strategically park your car to maximize the most condo showings without having to move it and avoid the cold rain/hot sun. Then you get home and sit in front of a computer all day and try to get referrals. However, if you do this well and for long enough, you can open your own brokerage and just charge other realtors a fee to do the above and just sip lattes all day.
