Because "the ladies will spot the quality streets away", obviously. It is a nice tie, perhaps some people just have no perspective on quality/price/value.

I guess a few people have decided that they absolutely need this for a holiday gift.

More disturbing is the fact that there is agressive bidding on an item that is being sold by 1) an overseas seller with 2) rather low feedback (8) and 3) who has only been on Ebay for six weeks....

i think kiton silks are 215 now, but i did get a few pure cashmere 7-folds w/ the tags for 300 but not silk

Btw, Australian $300 is approximately USD $229 as of today. Â I imagine that at the beginning of the season, when the price tag was made, that the dollar was stronger, and Australian $300 would be about US $215. Â Perhaps the seller "intentionally" unintentionally left off that little piece of information about the currency.

Things are noticably more expensive in Australia. Brioni ties retail for $300; well they did 3 years ago.
