Been thinking about what would look awesome for the wedding day which is next summer in Southern California. This is what I came up with so far....let me know your thoughts or if anything should be avoided or changed.

Gray bespoke suit, notch lapel, double vent, flat front pants
White bespoke spread collar french cuff shirt
Some badass To Boot NY caramel oxfords (no wingtips, simple smooth)
Matching belt
White pocket square
Navy bow tie.

Bring it!

I'd get a vest with lapels; a shirt collar with just a moderate spread; black punched-captoe oxfords; and a navy shepherd's check tie.

The point of the vest is to make the suit distinctive. Wide-spread collars are to 2012 what ruffled formal shirts were to 1979. And brown shoes and bowties say "a jaunty day at the office" rather than "the best day of one's life."

Most items don't exist in my world yet. Think some things like this:

Suit will probably look something like: http://store-us.hugoboss.com/Modern..._US,pd.html&cgid=21100#!i=35&color=040_Silver

Shoes: http://www.toboot.com/shoes/Winston/Tan

Tie:http://www.buyyourties.com/navy-blue-p-18727.html (only the idea that it would be a solid navy blue....not a PoS from a discount website)

Looking for thoughts on whether or not brown oxfords are too casual for the big day. Thanks.

Punched captoe blacks huh? I hear you on the black...but why the stylized design? I have a few pairs of black cap toes but I never thought about wearing punched anythings as my wedding shoes.

By opting for a gray suit and white shirt, I see this as an opportunity to go classic, classic, classic. Plaintoes aren't as classic to me as captoes, since they weren't worn with suits until the last few years. Why punched rather than plain-stitch captoes? The plain are more grave, less fun.

Why not get decent shoes, though? No need to go bespoke for those, but if you're dropping all that money on other stuff you should get something nicer than To Boot. Check out Leather Soul: http://leathersoulhawaii.com/ They are in Beverly Hills as well as Hawaii.

fun or classic? deceide. plain is always more formal than brogued, though.

Some classics are fun. That's what's great about them.

Sounds like a normal day at the office to me. The grey suit worn by Tom Cruise in Collateral was quite memorable.
