So I'm really digging my RRDS as far as the fit and style go. Despite what most do, I washed them after about five wears, to keep the waist from stretching and shrink them a bit. Though I wish the waist were a tiny bit smaller, I am very, very happy with the overall fit, and would likely buy the same size if doing it again. I like the plain dark look of these, but I like the fit so much, I want a second pair. I was looking at both the RRDG and the Used Deluxe. I know that people here love the RRDG as well as the DS, but what do you think of the UD? Is it too distressed looking, and is it dark enough to still dress up for going out to swankier places? I haven't seen them in person, and no two pics look the same. Also, for anyone who actually owns a pair, how does stretching and shrinkage compare to RRDS? BTW, if I haven't said it lately, for a denim amature like me who needs help getting the best in denim, you guys rock!

The used deluxes actually aint bad, nice wear. My pair really does fold where the wear marks are so it looks natural. Buuut... I didn't and will never pay near 100 dollars for that crap. My post-raw denim mindset is urging me never to buy something with pre-distress marks ever again... unless it's ridiculously low price from a thrift store like buffalo exchange or something.

Well, Buffalo exchange is hardly a thrift store.

I think the Used Deluxes have nice distressing, but I agree with the above two.. definitely not for me. The greycasts are.. different. That's all I'll say. I've already said my bit about them many times before.

Just keep on keepin' on with your current RRDS----------the conventional wisdom is:

Non-selvage Nudies=Garbage

Why not go for Imperials if you like Nudies? Some variety, yes?

They're Aussie jeans with very similar denim and style to Nudies. There is a thread dedicated to them on this very board.

Are they available online or anywhere in the US? I saw the member offering to get and ship them, but I would have to try them first to know whether I like the fit, so it would be easiest to just order from a store.

I agreed to a certain extent. Slim Jims are still an awesome cut.

By The Power of Greycast, I summon... LA GUY! Surely he will help me defend the Greycasts! Seriously, I own both the RRDS and RRDG. Love 'em both. They're only the same jeans in terms of silhouette; otherwise, they're not really comparable. The RRDS have nicer denim and a beautiful blue, and the RRDG have a slightly greencast color, fade quicker, and are (IMO) better for a more beat-up look. I don't know if this means anything, but my inclination (which I followed in my own purchases) is that the RRDG looks better as a more casual, workhorse pair of jeans--I sized up one and let it stay a little loose. The RRDS is a little more... austere? To the extent that any pair of Nudies could be called "austere", I suppose. Anyway, the color and denim make them very different pairs of jeans in my mind. If you were only going to buy one, I'd say go for the RRDS, but if you're getting a second pair, I can say that I love my RRDG.

I think that at the $150-$180 category, (non-selvage) Nudies are a decent buy, especially since they are now generally available and regularly on sale. I've both non-selvedge and selvedge Nudies, and they both serve their purposes. Some of the non-selvage available models are just cut well, like the Bootcut Ola, and they are lighter weight (about 11 ounces, I think) and good for warmer weather. As for the greycast, my experiences with them have been pretty good. I like the color is good, and imhe, wear as hard as some much more expensive jeans (I really like Rag & Bone, but find that the grey cast actually wear hard.) And ime, *all* Nudies jeans wear harder than the significantly more expensive Acnes and J. Lindebers (which are super overpriced in the States, and not that special to boot, ime and imo).

Thank you sir, how about another link to some quality selvage that is readily available in the states? Nothing slim and nothing baggy, just right if you could be so kind
