Thinking about a two-button DB shawl collar tuxedo

Since tuxedo season is approaching, I've been thinking about picking one up. My initial thoughts were for a one-button shawl collar or 6x2 DB peak lapel, at least until I saw a double-breasted, two-button, shawl collar jacket on the black tie guide website (the one in the lower-right picture).

Does anyone have any thoughts on this jacket? Is it terribly outdated? Any ideas where to get one (other than the usual MTM/bespoke suspects)?

According to tailors at Poole's, DB shawl isn't really done. I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just saying that it's an esoteric choice.

Eh? It's a classic. Really, it's the original DJ. I can't believe anyone at Poole would say otherwise.

But a two button (2x1) is 80s fashion. Get a 4x1, which is the enduring classic.

You only really see the 2 button configurations in the runway shows now, if that says anything.

Manton-
Really? Well, that's the last time I trust my ex-gf's father on such matters. What a terrible thing to do to a young man, misleading him in that way.

Oh well, my apologies for propagating lies.
