^^^ well, there's a cousin somewhere on the Mrs' side of the family who reliably posts updates every weekend about drinking, and how much she drank, and being hungover. Some messages and pictures are more salacious than others, about once a month (i.e., every four drunken weekends) it gets a bit risque. I kind of like her, but I'm not sure I'd feel the same if we had, you know, regular contact.

I have a close friend who will without fail update his facebook status about a month out from any big trip we take (like the guys hitting up Atlantic City or a camping trip), talking about how great the trip is going to be, then a week out say how he can't wait, and then the day before start spamming all his friend's walls with posts about how psyched he is and how much fun we're going to have....

Just something stupid and permanent over a book that, while one of my favorites, isn't exactly great... that's something she'll regret by 30 at the latest.

What will save FB is that most of the activity I'll bet is from the news feed so your individual profiles won't matter as much as they did with Myspace .

Yeah, I have a guy like this on my friends list too. He tosses platitudes and half-baked aperçus out into the void, and nobody ever responds. As a socially inept, terminally lonely member of society myself- but a terminally lonely member of society who is nonetheless capable of occasionally arousing interest through his comments- my heart truly breaks for those who are both lonely and banal.

Update: Ugh, this guy is killing me. Can anyone here get past the third or fourth line of this "poem"? If so, you're a stronger man than I, who had to bow out after "lunch",-- quite possibly the least poetic word in the English language!

...not sure why i am awake at this time, but i was thinking while trying to fall asleep again and i ended up writing some poems and lyrics so i guess that's good...now it's time to go to sleep again...here's one lengthy poem i wrote off the top of my head and just finished(if some wording is off at the end it's cuz i am tired tho not asleep and not focused as im now getting sleepy again)...it seems pretty good to describe my ideal girl tho

A Girl for Me

I want a girl who smiles at my touch
a girl who I can lay with just holding her
I want a girl who wants to have lunch
Just for the sake of me wanting to see her
I want a girl who laughs more than she cries
but isn't afraid to see me in tears in sad times

but who is also random and silly at times
