A few, yes. It always makes for a very bizarre encounter. I'm also significantly younger than you, I would imagine. Young whippersnappers still are self deluded into thinking "Number of Friends" means anything.

I believe if you remove the numbers you don't have to deal with any of their poorly worded security options. That's what I did. Their database no longer has my bday, so there's nothing to display.

If you can tell me how that's done please do. It seems that there isn't an option to remove your birthday

FWIW, I've had mine set to the third option since I joined, and there are no notifications sent out, email or otherwise, when my birthday comes around.

Facebook must have gotten wise to you. Now they allow only one or two changes to your birthday before it is locked.

Ah, I misremembered. I made a fake birthdate and set it to "Don't show my birthday in my profile." This means it won't show up on anybody's news feeds.

I deleted my birthday from facebook a couple of months ago.

I had to search Google to find out how, and from what I remember it involved signing into the mobile version of the site (m.facebook.com?) from a regular computer because the menu isn't available otherwise.

They've updated their security/privacy settings since then, so I don't know if it still works, but Google it. Hope that helps.

I feel obligated to post happy birthday to someone if they say it to me. This means that every time i notice its someones birthday, I click on our friendship, see if they wrote HBD on my wall, and then reciprocate or not.

I'm prettier than most of the chicks I know, so it works I guess.

Yeah, facebook is really good at making the simplest things quite complicated. I presume it's because they really don't want to encourage people to make personal details private (as it takes away from the point).
