These are all rediculous. I could use a cheaper version of all of these and be just as happy and with a few extra dollars in my pocket.

Right, cause some of the stuff you need to buy ALWAYS should be high end

Apparently some people have never had to, you know, work and budget for things

At least one dinner per country I visited. Even if I was under-budget, I would starve myself (or just not buy the cheap, touristy things I usually purchase) until I could afford one nice dinner of authentic cuisine from whatever country I was in.

Why are you getting so upset anytime someone in this thread posts something with which you disagree? It's obviously a very subjective and personal matter. It's not like you are going to have some black and white list of things that are worth spending extra money on and get everyone in the world to agree with it.

I'm a first year uni student, budget is more than a way of life, its an all consuming overlord. I stand by my point, I would rather save up and buy good quality in everything I can think of. That includes toilet paper, pens, clothes, computers, food.

Ophthalmologist.

You get issued one pair of eyes, **** those up by getting that "cheap-but-tooootally-reliable" LASIK in (insert country here) and you're done.

organic doesn't necessarily mean "better farming practices"
