My mentor, may his name be a blessing, worked five days a week through his 70s and 80s. He was still going into the office daily until he passed at 91. He and his wife also were very busy socially until just before they both passed within short order of each other. Season tickets to the university b-ball games, known at all the best restaurants, etc. Lives well lived.

My dad still works in his early 70s. That's probably because his son is a broke starving artist xennial, though.

My dad was still working in his early 70s but he quit when he felt that he was starting to get dementia.

I tore out and replaced my redwood fencing, post holes and concrete and added some raised flower beds this year. I doubt I could do 40+ hour weeks on a pipeline anymore but 74 next month.

People who trade seats to be next to their bf/gf/wife/etc on short flights. Do you really need to be next to them at all times?

If it’s your time to go, at least you’ll go clutching frantically at your loved one.
