On the subject. The piping contractor I worked for expanded their company to take on a sheet metal/hvac division. The new tin knockers needed trucks they were given unused ones from the existent fleet. One of the muckety mucks bitched so much about the hand crank windows that the mechanics pulled the doors apart and replaced them with power windows. Word got out. Hilarity and derision ensued. For years.

fuuu this story has me jibbledy . when i was a new father i was pretty leery of letting other folks besides me n wife look after my kiddo

I would think leaving them with your mom, given that she was retired from education (or any other professional career for that matter), with (I assume) no known issues, would be a good safe choice. But after she let one kid drown while she napped, I would never leave another kid with her. This entire thing seems pretty unbelievable.
