We had a camp that was one of 15 in the middle of a national forest near where we grew up ... right here in the good ole U.S.of A. Less than a mile away was a former bombing range from WWII. The range was off limits for the very reason you state. No one is doing construction there ... but ...

There's a lot of undeveloped land on the Monterey peninsula that used to be an artillery range. Nobody's going to be building on that any time in the next century or so.

I brought home a bit of Japanese WWII-era unexploded ordinance from the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. When I realized that safely getting rid of it would entail calling the bomb squad I ditched it into a dumpster.

Yes I was young and dumb.

The late Jacques Littlefield owned the Military Vehicle Technology Collection -- an extensive private collection of military vehicles -- located in Portola Valley, California. The grounds were beautiful and he built pavilion after pavilion to house his purchases. Jacques told many stories about buying pieces of equipment only to discover that they came with shells or bombs. In one case there was talk of a nuclear warhead on a piece coming from Russia (it was, of course, removed). It was a fascinating place to visit and tour.

That man could have started his own war.

So weird that Lane Kiffin is actually a good coach. Wrote him off so many times after SC & Raiders (also because he looks like a goober)

I've seen footage of his collection. Very cool and not a little bit weird. ;-)

Is the never button the bottom button an absolute, or are there exceptions? Like in this instance- if you're not wearing a shirt, button all the buttons?

Well when you're already breaking the rule of wearing a shirt under a jacket, I think buttoning the bottom button is less of a transgression.

Wait, there's a rule that you have to wear a shirt under a jacket?

This is why I'm a SWD guy- this classic menswear stuff is way too complicated.

It is too complicated because Texas there forgot all the exceptions to that rule, but the most relevant one here is massive chest tattoos which provides the visual interest a shirt and tie generally would.

Also, no black shoes with taupe suits except when everything is ******* hideous so it doesn't matter.

No exceptions except when you wear a getup like that with no shirt. No one wants to see his hairy stomach!
