I did something equally moronic when I was 16 involving a track pistol that was a little too realistic.

The fact that we didn't have to be scared for our lives when the police pulled us over was an early lesson in white privilege, as I realized much later. The driver got 6 months of community service and nobody else who was in the car was charged.
