I suppose if I lived somewhere where designated drivers were a thing...and especially if someone else was paying (isn't that what you do for your DD?)...I could drink something like that.

Not out of that horrendous can though...

Who is that?

He was a past generation GreenFrog but he managed to be at once even more douchey (ask Kabbaz...and who currently has The Tie?) yet more likeable.

Lol I know who that is, actually. I was just playing dumb.

Hmmm, I've often said that I like the taste of beer enough on it's own that I'd drink it even if there wasn't alcohol in it. I fear someone's going to put me to the test...

Unfortunately, non-alcoholic beers almost all taste like syrupy corn crap. I have actually tried that MADD virgin craft beer (tradeshow booth sample), and it was no different.

I have had to deal with addicts of various sorts for almost all of my life. Nonetheless, I am still amazed (in a bad way) by addict behavior every time I see it. I never get used to it.

A lot of my friends are at the stage of life where they are producing children. They are giving them old-fashioned names of history like Venerable Bede and Romulus. I understand that parents want to be "creative" in naming their kids, but they should also try to be "reasonable."

EDIT: I guess I have no business complaining though because if I ever had a son I would want to name him Florian. If I had a daughter, I'd want to name her June. (I'd really want to name her Angelique but those of you who know me IRL know why that would be a horrible name.)

Florian is all right...

June is a bit old fashioned but ...

Angelique is ok.

Romulus is just awful..

My Dad doesn't take call any more, but when he did, he always had a few near-beers in the house that he could take with to his hockey games and whatnot, so he could drink beer after playing without worrying about medical ethics and all that jazz. Alcoholics also buy stuff like that reasonably often so they can have a beer with guests while not worrying about relapse.

The branding isn't the best, but there is a market for it.

Unfortunately, non-alcoholic beers almost all taste like syrupy corn crap. I have actually tried that MADD virgin craft beer (tradeshow booth sample), and it was no different.

The one my Dad was getting, O'Douls Amber, is actually not bad. A little on the sweeter side, but it really tastes like beer.

i know but it's still a bad choice, as is the MADD branding. And also the fact that others have pointed out that it looks like an energy drink. The whole thing is bizarre to me and I can't imagine who would buy it.

As mentioned in the unquoted part of my post, it's for the 16-30 year old breezer, energy drink crowd, they like that sort of branding and its a way to get them roped in and out of the breezers etc. ad into beer.

I am seeing more and more students write "the reason being is because xyz." I don't get how that could sound right to anyone.

Just saw a story about the 15 biggest flop albums of 2014. I am not trying to do a parody of patrickBOOTH poster, but I did not know who most of the artists even were.

Turns out many of them were winners of those singing competitions on tv. Like Tessanne Chin for example I was all like "Who the heck is that?"
