1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

You cannot blame my people for Creed. I do think you can blame FLMM though.

Canada is responsible for a funny parody of American Idiot though.

I was speaking with a Canadian friend the other day and he said, "dude, we hated Creed way before Americans did."

Isn't Canada generally just an unfunny parody of Michigan and Wisconsin?

Alberta is a parody of both Texas and Utah. BC is what America's left coast wishes it could be.

70's Rush is better than 80's Rush. Basically when they were trying to be Led Zeppelin they were good, after that they started to suck.

Early 70s was definitely Zeppelin-esque but late 70s was not. Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres were moving well away and by the time Permanent Waves came out they had some definite radio friendly singles for the first time (Freewill and Spirit of the Radio). Moving Pictures was, IMO, the perfect melding of synth use with their prior sound. By the time the 90s finished, with Peart's tragedies, they had moved back to more guitar driven music.

I cannot wait to see their set list. It's rumoured they are going deep tracks so I'm hoping to see something like Xanadu or La Villa Strangiato.

I gave them a try. Bought an album on Amazon on sale at Piob's behest. I ran through it a few times hoping I would get an Enter the Wu moment. I don't get it either

I'm just not sure what to say about this other than I am profoundly sad and also 100% positive I shall one day be confronted with someone using one.

I remember when I was in cooking class there was this woman who insisted that you boil potatoes "until they're falling off the bone." Needless to say, everyone was like "Huh?" A little bit more conversation revealed that she believed "falling off the bone" was just a synonym for "tender," to where you could always use them interchangeably. Turns out she'd never even paid attention to the individual words of the idiom.
