I was just gonna post that. This real fucking annoying! One thread once in a while ok... Maybe you'll fool someone into clicking a link. But entire pages full one after another, come on...

Sat down in the Lincoln center to watch an opera and was surprised the seats didn't have little foldable tables. Four years of conditioning.

I also still have nightmares about finals and not being prepared. A common one is I wake up, realize I have a final right now that I haven't studied for or went to classes, rush and leave half the exam blank (sometimes I have pants on sometimes I don't) and then I actually wake up and takes awhile for me to settle down and remember I don't have to take more finals.

Big news turns out LeBron James wore a Johnny Manziel jersey. Here was ESPN's headline: "LeBronny Football?: James Has Manziel Jersey." No, I am not creative make believing.

I don't get why lots of people nowadays make their personal greetings to one another on the Facebook. I guess it makes sense if you want to wish someone a happy birthday and your only contact info is FB, but there are dozens of Mother's Day greetings on there today. I presume there are better channels to make a heartfelt greeting to your mom. The cynic in me thinks that they are more trolling for likes than actually expressing their love.

I called and texted my mom today. I thought it would be better to hear her voice than to do the social media thing

I'm often surprised by that too. I wonder how closely correlated that is with a person's general willingness to express affection in public? I would never post that kind of stuff on Facebook, but I think it's because I'm the kind of person who feels uncomfortable with any public expressions of affection.

I have a recurring dream where i open a letter that says there was some kind of mistake and I didn't have enough credits to graduate after all. So now, years later I have to go back to school. The dream is never very specific about being able to bang college girls again, so it's a total lose/lose situation

There are a lot of interactions that take place on social media that really don't need to. Exhibitionists, the lot of them!

I don't know about old people doing it...they are just weird.

But for young people, there is kind of a history behind it. The first couple of years of facebook were *very* different than they are now...and birthday greetings were kind of a thing. People would blow up someone's wall on facebook for their birthday in much the same way that people might put up a giant piece of construction paper on someone's dorm door for their birthday for everybody to write happy birthday on.

For a while, the wall was more like one giant text whiteboard--kind of like a big wiki page that anyone could edit. So you would essentially turn the largest "content block" on someone's page into a big birthday card from everybody. Then they moved to separate posts, but there was still no newsfeed and there were no likes...the only reason you would post on their page is if you wanted them to see it. Of course, there's kind of a warm fuzzy feeling you get when a ton of people wish you happy birthday...and someone is much more likely to wish an acquaintance a happy birthday via facebook than by phone/text (may not even have their number).

So...there is this vestigial force of habit where when I see the sidebar say it is a friend's birthday...I go write the damn happy birthday post.

See, you're getting old, because "young" people don't remember FB's infancy.

Why do you have to say things like this?

Stings, doesn't it? Try being on the wrong side of 40.
