Quote:I don't think it should be banned but labelled. Freons were supposed to be environmentally friendly. When after 10-20years you will show no ill effects eating GMO containing food than I will start eating it. Face it for us biggest benefit would be decreased cost of food, and realistically most of the saving will pour in corporate pockets anyway. So why advocate GMO? We have little to gain.

The huge majority of maize and soy grown in the US is GM and has been for years.

On some level, every non-wild food we eat is genetically modified. We as a species have been artificially selecting plants and animals for favorable characteristics for many thousands of years. This is the basis of agriculture and is what allowed human civilization to begin. Almost none of the crops or animals we eat even closely resemble their original, wild ancestors.

Clearly a bit different than directly tinkering with the DNA, but keep that in mind every time someone blindly says "BLARGH CHANGING NATURE IS BAD".

people love having strong opinions when it comes to stuff like GMO, farming, veganism, etc.

unfortunately, i see a strong lack of correlation between these people and the ability to form unpolluted opinions.

There seems to be a lot of delusion going on here:
    http://groupthink.jezebel.com/top-16-reasons-that-i-m-fat-1475299430

Especially 13--how do you come to that conclusion? I don't think dudes on average are smart enough or malicious enough to figure out that "I'm terrified she is going to leave me, so I am going to her self-fat-shaming and she will never leave". Most of them probably just wanted her to lose weight and were assholes about it.

#3 must just be because she hangs out with other fat people. If I saw a dude who looked like her, I would definitely think he was fat...but if I was one of her friends and saw the same dude, I might think he was a catch.

". I have two forms of asthma, only one of which is complicated by weight, neither of which is controlled. I am allergic to tons of foods and that makes eating a healthy diet extremely complicated. This also makes my diet boring at times, during which it's a chore to eat a single meal; this causes me to store extra calories on days that I eat more than one meal, since my body thinks I'm starving. I am allergic to my own sweat and to being hot."

She's allergic to her own sweat and to being hot.

I'm confused. None of the reasons had to do with eating too much or not exercising.
