Why don't people have other people proofread their resumes?

Two finalists for a decent office job, $50-60K range, typos all over both resumes.

Not exactly the same but I just produced a brochure (only 12 pages) an had it professionally edited. Got it back after two weeks and found 14 errors on the first read through.

How can you make a living as an editor when you cannot spot a spelling mistake in 32pt text?!

true story: I once saw a medical student from belguim drop a single bill in an elevator. I went into the elevator, I was alone, and picked up the bill to see that it was a 500 Euro note. I was shocked that there was such a high denomination note and did a quick calculation to see how much that was in dollars (a lot).

I almost didn't give the motherfucker back (FINDERS KEEPERS BEYOOOCH), but later that day I saw the student (he was visibly distraught) and started to mess with him, I offered to lend him 500euros with a 5% vig. Turns out the kid lives on 500 Euros for food for two weeks (which in NYC isn't much) I felt like an asshole and gave it back and he hugged me.

I don't get why the US doesn't have $500 and $1000 in regular circulation. It would make drug deals and gambling debts/payouts so much easier.

Exactly why I had it done! Spelling and grammar are not my forte. True Story: I once got thrown out of an exam because I spelled my own name wrong aged 15. If I'm gonna pay to have a weakness eradicated then I sure as hell want it done properly!
