1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Yeah it is a massive building. There's also no ventilation in my office.

(with regards to those who want us to vacate agw and the politics of it; I only want to leave this for future ref, not to extend debate)

The report says they had air bubbles in ice for those periods (LIA/MWP); maybe part of the challenge of the project was finding ice with solid cores recent enough to compare to deep ones? Like you, I'm no core expert - but I'm relying on enough Dr'd wonks signed off on the data to make it good enough to bat around. The report does say that "the current conservative estimate of the age error is 2% for 0-11.64 kyr B.P.". That's 0 (as in now) to 11kyr.

I was walking behind a dude who was sagging his jeans so low that he was actually wearing another pair of jeans underneath (at the normal height).

    I do not get this.

I don't get why people want to discuss either AGW or the politics of it in this thread when we have a whole forum.

If "building" is a euphemism for penis, then yes I do. I don't find it difficult to regulate the temperature though.

That's why the Democrats have the White House, because conservatives are too dumb to have figured out how to employ this strategy.

It's not that they're too dumb to employ it (sadly, some do), but it's useless without the media, pop culture, unions, public ed, and higher ed, etc. parroting/echoing/reinforcing it.

    This is really quite hilarious.

Speck, beam, ect. There is much, much more of an echo chamber on the right than there is on the left.

I have much I could say about this but I still think we should move this to the CE vs. a thread that's supposed to be about me hating on phatties using their cell phones in line at Starbux.

I think we can all agree that that is a standard left-wing tactic that should be rebuked.

What the deal with this Inis Meain character? I mean I never heard of these sweaters before in my life and now everybody and their mother is talking about them. When I finally get a hold of one and if the clouds don't part, angels sing, and prince Charles himself doesn't wipe my ass with the softest of yarns I am gonna scream.
