Meh, just not really getting what the city is about yet. Seems to be copious amounts of beer, cigarettes and bicycles, but haven't really worked out where to go to meet people yet. Reykjavik was easy, friends and phone numbers within my first 24 hours, here... not so much.

It is pretty much ALL honkies who act this way ime. Particularly those who have been accused of a crime. It's like the non-whites expect the system to be a hostile clusterfuck; the white people are shocked to find that the world isnt working together to make it easier on them.

Danes are very private/unwelcoming as a whole, so I can see the issue.

Most schools have a Fridays bar, where students come and get drunk of their asses on cheap beer.

The Danes are a bit offish.

Not as friendly as the Finns,Norwegians or the Swedes..

    Says the Frenchman. :p

It is a real problem though and most tourists complain about.

I haven't been here long enough to speak to that, though my experiences with danes in Reykjavik didn't make them seem any harder to meet than Icelanders (could just be how they are on vacation, I suppose). I think it's just a matter of not really knowing the city that well and needing to figure out where danes go when they DO want to meet people, as opposed to hang out with people they already know. I'll figure it out though.

Ha ha. You know, there is a lot of truth to this. 70's porn movie props perhaps?

I call bullshit. If a person "is told that they have to go through a process to get X" how is the impact different when the person is a woman or a minority?

Actually, you answered my question - and substantiated my preconceived notions - perfectly.

That's the great thing about preconceived notions. They can usually be construed to account for any subsequent developments or facts.

Good point. From another angle I'll paraphrase Denis Prager who frequently says something like "Polls either confirm what you already know or are wrong."; I suspect preconceived notions are similar...well, at least for the notion holder.

I do believe that if I'm going to do something I should do it - perfectly.
