Currently on a work trip with colleagues. On the plane, two women got into a spirited debate about whether one should wash or rinse the dishes before loading it into the dishwasher. I didn’t get the strong opinions.
So I mentioned this to my coworkers when we landed, and it’s touched off a debate that is still raging. Now I don’t get two things -
First, why is this a debate?
Second, why do I work with disgusting people who don’t pre-rinse their dishes??
Something about the enzymatic detergent needing larger food particles to latch onto for maximum effectiveness, isn't it?With modern dishwashers you're not supposed to pre-rinse. @otc has a lot of strong opinions on this.
Why have a dishwasher if I’m going to need to clean it anyway.First, why is this a debate?

I have trust issues...Why have a dishwasher if I’m going to need to clean it anyway.

Manuals are for sucks...Yeah, read the fücking manual if you want to settle the debate. Unless you have some ancient POS dishwasher or particularly filthy dishes that need soaking, just put that **** in there.
Also, utensils go in the basket handles DOWN if you want them clean. Don’t be a little ***** who points all the forks and stuff down because you might poke yourself or something.
Ok go watch the “Technology Connections” guy on YouTube spend 45 minutes explaining it to you from his basement then.Manuals are for sucks...
I just overcome and adapt.
Omg.....I'd rather be dead.I've never owned or used a dishwasher in my life. At this point it seems pretty likely I never will.

Yeah, that seems like the way the companies have solved the problem of people loading it wrong and then complaining that their spoons aren’t clean…I have a third rack which is dedicated to utensils, so they don't face up or down.
