great, now I'm getting nostalgic. I listened to those three albums quite a bit in my early years (my folks had them, k?). Probably one of the issues people with BJ have is the softening from tunes like "Captain Jack" or "Angry Young Man" to something like "Uptown Girl" which is catchy but way too likeable for a New Yorker to sing. Kind of like watching John Lennon grow old and write songs Paul would have written.

In the air tonight is a great song...

They're not my 2 favourite singers but Phil Collins is ok...

After Genesis , he became very popular and starting having great commercial success ...

Some songs were very mainstream but I don't see that as a problem because I'm not a hipster..

In the case of Billy Joel, Honesty is a great song ...

The rest is not to my taste..

I like Phil Collins solely because In the Air Tonight was always played leading up to University of Georgia football games. It was close to kickoff and it was always as the stadium was filling up and the energy was building. Now every time I hear that little drum launch it gets me revved up.

I think I'm the only person on earth who doesn't like pets. About 6 of the last ten girls I met have been vegetarians, often found adopting the ugliest most down-trodden dogs at the humane society. I guess I'd consider a pet when I have the hassle of a kid and my life is already ruined.

Hate pets, kids are a hassle? You sound like my ex-boss and she's demented.

I'm a big fan of Phil Collins, not for his music but because he's obsessed with the Alamo and has the largest private collection of artifacts from the Battle of the Alamo in the world.

iknowrite?! actually I get the homage/tribute to doo-wop, motown, a capella and 60s pop he did for "an innocent man"... "tell her about it", "for the longest time", "leave a tender moment alone", "keeping the faith".... besides if writing a song like "uptown girl" ends up with christie brinkley all over your penor- won't you write and sing that too?

I don't get the popularity - or do I say "genius" - of Elvis Costello.

I love animals, but I hate pets. They are too much work. I don't know where people get the time and energy. Same goes for kids, except add money to the equation.
