because capitalism promotes change for the sake of change--the semblance or simulacrum of innovation
because this kind of economic system advances (or distorts, however you want to look at it) aesthetic formations & patterns
because the particular economy we're talking about is social media, so that complaining about these new aesthetic patterns is actually just a source of more discourse, which is a source of more revenue; as long as dissatisfaction doesn't reach a threshold of people actually abandoning the service/product, then even whipping up more dissatisfaction is probably a net gain
because this particular development allows some people to emulate decorative word posters and decals, which promises to turn banality into some shared affective/intellectual resource and allows other people to complain about said banality, as if those complaints were actually some sign of cynicism/sophistication
