1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Insurance is one of those things that are, in many ways, taxes only on people that have something to lose.

Reminds me of when I moved from Boston to Dallas and gleefully called my insurance company. I thought I was going to have a substantially lower premium.

Nope. Went up like 30% because of all the degenerate drivers with no insurance. Fuck them.

Oh yeah, I was also the last car to get hit in a chain rear end accident caused by none other than an uninsured driver. She was in a slightly older Acura. Fuck that bitch.

MN requires insurance, but has one of the highest rates of uninsured drivers. :(

Is there any state which doesn't require insurance?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_insurance_in_the_United_States#Requirements_by_state

Some are trivially low, like Florida which is $10k for property damage only or NJ which is $5k property damage only. South Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi and New Hampshire don't require it.

Edit: I am willing to bet there is a strong correlation between the levels of insurance required and the insurance compliance rates. Anecdotally, TX and MN have relatively high minimums (both in the top 10), and they have high non-compliance rates, and MA is in the bottom 30% of states. I don't have access to all the data though.

I was watching the news earlier and they showed a segment about the floods in the US. The couple the interviewed didn't have home owners insurance, which is kind of retarded, when you think of cost vs potential saving.

They all require it and I bet most states have 30-60% of its drivers uninsured at any given time. Again, things like auto insurance are only purchased by people with something to lose.

You know what listicle I would actually read through?

23 NFL Players who own tasteful and architecturally significant mansions.

"Insane" is certainly a valid descriptor for Tom Brady's mansion (although proper usage would be "whoever built this must be insane")

Don't any of the athletes decide to spend their money hiring an architect to build something cool, or buying up a FLW home or something? Tom Brady's wife spent her career surrounded by top designers and this is what they go with?

I always wondered why people want houses that large. 3/4 of those rooms are probably never used.

Says the man using plebe vs pleb.
That pool is bigger than the median home in Manhatten.
    Don't worry, they'll get a bailout.
Well, I already posted a couple that don't. Minnesota has actually required giving insurance information when you renew your plates. I doubt they actually check though.

of course, both are perfectly acceptable abbreviations of plebeian you fucking barstool pedant.

l'inc can settle this for us, no doubt. he owns a low-key maybach and shops for low-ceiling mansions. he'll know what the acreage is all about.

also, i believe in my neck of the woods you need proof of insurance to get a car loan but i guess the common practice is to cancel after you roll off of the lot. i wouldn't know tho i've always had insurance as a matter of course.
