+1

I tend to pick-up hobbies in a quality-obsessed manner. I can't afford to go full-throttle on all of my interests at once, so i cycle them, and I never spend on credit. I save for all my purchases. I haven't spent heavily on clothing since 2006, but 2006 was a huge year for me and I'm pretty well equipped now. Last year I only spent a few k, mostly on shoes and bespoke shirts. This year i'm gonna build-up a wine cellar and finally commission a local craftsman to make me the bed I've always wanted. I'm gonna stay kidless for as long as possible so that I can continue to indulge in frivolous luxuries without feeling guilty about it.

edit: and ****, I forgot to pick-up some harvest crunch and milk at the grocery store tonight

1. A posh car (but a car=transport in my book, and I wouldn't want to be saddled with the maintenance costs of a BMW or Mercedes)

2. Fountain pens

3. Expensive electronic gadgets

Alot of people spend more money then they "should" on other hobbies and make out fine. I don't see whats wrong with spending on clothes even if it compromises you getting a fancy car or new furniture or something.

If we are talking about buying clothes before necessities, then its obvious thats just crazy.
