I am going to be spending the long weekend in RI with my girlfriend. Never been there before but heard it was nice.

Could anyone recommend some restaurants, bars, and other things that might be worth visiting?

Thanks in advance guys

There is nothing to do in RI but go to the beach and have Del's. Stay away from coffee milk, it is horrible.

There are numerous good to great restaurants in RI. In Newport, try Yesterdays. It's been there for at least 30 yrs. Also the Black Pearl for great chowder. In Providence any place owned by John Elkhay. XO is an old favorite. Mills Tavern is in the same block. Providence is also the birthplace of Capitol Grill. Federal Hill is full of Italian places. I lived there for 18 yrs and miss the diversity of the food. Good luck and enjoy. Also you might try 1149 Restaurant in East Greenwich. The chef is a gentleman named Jules Ramos and he is a genius. He has helped put a number of places on the map.

Skanky strip clubs in the downtown area. That's it. Oh, Newport is nice, too, so I've heard.

Visit the city of Quahog. Take a tour of the Pawtucket brewery. Visit the Griffins.

coffee milk is AMAZING.

hm
food - lots of nice higher end places in Providence
Kav - go there for lunch, lunch menu prices are much more reasonable - either way; it's a cool, kind of quaint place with lots of antique stuff around.
Mill's Tavern - really good, also fairly pricey...
Hemingway's - upscale sea food joint

Federal Hill has a bunch of nice restaurants too.

bars - Bravo in downtown is nice. The are a lot of nice bars down town.
dessert - Pastiche on Federal Hill - very, very good fruit tarts
RISD museum - not a bad museum, has some cool work
Newport / Bristol - are nice places, if you're in the mood for it.

not sure what you're looking for, so i hope that helps
