Things to do before you're dead

I've been on disability from work the past 2 months and bed rest gives me a lot of time to think. Sometimes that's good and sometimes that's bad. Anyway, I recently started to think up a list of things I'd like to do before I'm dead. Here's the start of my list.

1 live in San Francisco
2 climb Mt Sill
3 climb Half Dome in Yosemite again
4 go visit Carl in Oregon
5 enter a Balboa contest
6 make an attempt on Mt McKinley
7 go visit Je in Beijing
8 go see Tiger Woods play at the Masters
9 go visit Simon in Hong Kong
10 go trekking in the Himalayas
11 go to an opera at a really nice opera house like the Met or La Scala
12 get a bespoke navy suit with a really nice pair of dark brown John Lobbs or Edward Greens
13 go hiking in Patagonia
14 own a home in Greece
15 run a marathon
16 go trekking in New Zealand
17 do a tango in Argentina
18 visit Brazil during Carnaval
19 vacation in the Seychelles
20 vacation in Tahiti
21 go skiing in Whistler
22 go heli skiing
23 go hiking in Banff
24 go hiking in the Andes
25 take a photography class
26 take a siesta in Spain
27 follow the footsteps of the great Russian novelists in Moscow and St Petersberg

How so? I thought the grass courts would make the ball speedier? Did you use the heavier duty ball or the regular duty ball (designed for grass courts)? I think that makes quite a bit of difference. I know the bounces are low, but I didn't think the game would be that slow.

On the contrary, I have found grass to be quite fast. Clay courts (and other gravel-like surfaces) are by far the slowest. Grass is quite fast and quite comparable to hard courts in speed. It's more forgiving than asphalt because it's not as hard but then hard courts are more predictable because balls sometimes make weird bounces on grass. Wimbledon is a tournament won by the serve and volley players not the baseline rallyers who win the French Open.

Potala Palce in Tibet

Having been to Potala Palace, I can tell you that its prodigiousness is quite impressive. I remember its massive walls the most, and their tapered form seem to echo the surrounding Himalayas. It will be very interesting to see what the new railway into Tibet, does for the whole region. It certainly seems like it would undermine the region's long time impenetrability.
