On that same note, I'd like to see the *peaceful* unification of Ireland.

My only goal in life is ongoing - look great every single day. So far, so good.

    ...and on that same note....

the unification of sf and aaac! [IMG]

I think this is a Things to do before you are dead thread, not a things that are likely to get you killed thread.

Surf Jaws. Of course, that could be the last thing I do before I'm dead. I wish I was Laird Hamilton . . .

I'd settle for surfing Pipeline, Sunset Beach, Padang Padang, Uluwatu, G-land, Jeffrey's Bay, Mundaka . . . the list gets very long.

I was prettu lucky in that the list that I made when I was 15, I fufulled before I was 30, and the list I did at 22, I hit recently. I still have a few things left, though, but most of them have to do with my children.

There are specific tours you can take that take you there to do just that. So there is no danger involved.

How so? I thought the grass courts would make the ball speedier? Did you use the heavier duty ball or the regular duty ball (designed for grass courts)? I think that makes quite a bit of difference. I know the bounces are low, but I didn't think the game would be that slow.

All my dreams. Coming apart at the seams!

Eytan's right that it's the ball on grass is not as slow as clay, but the sliding in really changes your speed, in my experience. It feels faster, especially on har tru. When I've played on grass I've felt the court deadens the ball too much. It is fun, though.

Wimbledon is a tournament won by the serve and volley players not the baseline rallyers who win the French Open.

    Incorrect.

The serve and volleyers who dominated the 80's andf 90's have been superceded by the baseliners due to a new type of grass which is much slower - I forget which type. The change was made because of the deterioration of the previous grass over the two weeks of Wimbledon - the new type is more durable.

See Federer v's Nadal this year.

I've played many times on grass courts - the bounce is low and unpredictable.

Not a golfer myself, but I've always wondered how difficult it would be to get a tee time at Augusta. Is it just a matter of who you know because I would imagine that club membership is next to impossible unless you're either filthy rich or very well connected.
